Derby Homes recognises that people keep pets for a multitude of reasons, including companionship, stress relief, increased physical activity, and the development of a strong bond with the animal, as well as the potential for reduced loneliness and increased social interaction.
We also recognise the vital importance of assistance animals, also known as service animals, who are specially trained to assist people with disabilities, performing tasks that mitigate their disabilities, such as guiding, alerting, or providing physical support.
