As a responsible landlord, Derby Homes has a legal duty to ensure that our homes are safe places for tenants to live. We recognise that the presence of pests and infestations in your home may affect this.

We want to ensure that pest and infestation issues are managed appropriately and explain what you can do if you identify any pest issues within your home or communal areas.

    The Operational Committee also asked for clarity around what is meant by 'excessive bird feeding or overgrown garden' and this was clarified with reference to the Tenancy Agreement.

    The policy was approved by the Operational Committee.

    The respondents who disagreed were asked why. The feedback to question 2 asked for clarity around timescales for repairs related to pest infestations, and about squirrel infestations.

    We also asked if there was anything else that had not been covered but we should consider, and respondents mentioned Risk Assessments and the cost of pest control treatments.
